1926 Centralia High School Football Team
The Centralia Sports Hall of Fame
1996 Team Award Winner


 

In only the second year of football at Centralia High School (1926), the program made its mark in Southern Illinois, scoring 194 points to their opponent’s 32. Declared Southern Illinois Champions by going undefeated in seven games.

TEAM MEMBERS: Robert Mapes, Earl Eggers, Clarence Carl, Glendon Grimes, Fred Wham, Donald Roper, Luther Neubauer, Myron Addison, Robert Hails, Dee Fox, Veron Frost, Wilfred Niedringhaus, Cliff Hight, Robert Hight, Emmet Woley, Charles Pound, John Merkelback, Merle Ray, Charles Hurst, Stanley Yuseitis, Raymond Estes, Warren Well, and Wilson Neubauer.
